What is an EEG?

An Electroencephalogram (EEG) is a non-invasive test that measures the brain’s electrical activity—commonly known as brain waves. It allows physicians to observe how your brain is functioning in real time.

EEGs are especially helpful in identifying abnormalities related to brain disorders, such as epilepsy or other seizure-related conditions. While an EEG is a valuable diagnostic tool, it is not a form of treatment. No electricity is introduced into your body during the test—it simply records your brain’s natural electrical patterns.

The procedure is safe, painless, and completely non-invasive, making it a comfortable experience for patients of all ages.
